Let me just say right here – I hate Internet Explorer. If it can possibly screw up something I am working on in it, it most certainly will. Now back to your regularly scheduled blog.
March is just around the corner, and at least where I’m from that means wind. Warm sun when you first step out of the door, and you think “Ahhh, how nice! It’s going to be a beautiful–” And your thoughts are swept away by near gale-force winds as you walk to your car. Oh, well.
One thing’s for sure: you can’t put those sweaters away quite yet.
On my meanderings, I found a marvelous sweater-and-skirt set over at Sweet Tea Couture. Four different outfits in one, and each with their own personality.
Yes, I know there’s a donkey right there. He didn’t seem to mind the intrusion. In fact, he acted as though he liked the simple black and pink outfit I wore. Maybe it was easier on his eyes than the bright feathers of the parrot that flew around quite a bit.
I would have liked to stay for a bit. The breeze off the water was nice, and it just felt good to be outside in the sunshine. Unfortunately, Mr. Polly back there was a bit fussy, so I figured it might be a good idea to scoot.
Not far away, there was a windmill past an old covered bridge. The wildflowers were already blooming there, and the wind was blowing enough to fill the sails of the mill.
It was a bit nippier here, so it’s a good thing I’d tossed some boots in my car that happen to match quite well with this stripey sweater. The nice, cozy knit kept me warm, both on top and on my legs.
Like the boots as well? They are also sold by Sweet Tea, separately!
I really think I need to wear this on a date this Friday night…
But first! Here comes a set close to how I dress at times in reals. I squealed when I saw this, and knew I’d be wearing it quite a bit. And yes – I was wearing it all day today, wandering around some of the shopping events. Check out the skulls on the sweater, and the cool stompie boots!
Again, these boots come from Sweet Tea. Like so many of their things (it could actually be all of their things!) these boots come with a HUD that lets you change the heel, the toe, the bridge, the top (covering the calf), and the laces, metal, and sole of the boots. These are different materials and colors – this isn’t just changing the tint. I wish we could do that in reals!
Of course, I couldn’t just stop with the boots…
Nope, not when I found these ridiculously adorable thigh highs! There are little bows at the top (you can wear them or not – you have a choice), and they match the red heels – and the red buttons on the sweater and skirt.
As if the skulls weren’t fun enough, there’s a colorfully bright sweater as well. A circle pattern that tends to make me think of the 70s, but totally updated. Vivid yellow ribbing just makes everything stand out.
I feel all Spring-timey in this! And even though the breeze was still pretty chilly here – I was wandering out onto a small boat, after all – the sweater kept me nice and warm without being bulky. This I like. The extra length in the sleeves I like as well – not only does it keep me a bit warmer, but it brings to mind (my mind, at least) the sleeves from the early Regency period. Total history geek alert, I know…
Four completely different looks from one outfit. The textures are high quality (something I’m a bit of a snob about, too…) and the fit is excellent. Now, when I took these photos, I hadn’t yet bought the Maitreya Lara body. I already owned the SLink Physique, but wasn’t wearing it at the time. One of the great things about these items is they do work well with the mesh bodies as well as the classic avatars, and if there’s a reason for using appliers (like with the tights), the corresponding HUD offers Omega, Maitreya Lara, and SLink Physique.
