One of the things I just love about SecondLife is the opportunity to explore different places and different eras. Granted, they aren’t perfect, but it’s still a blast! A few years ago, I roleplayed for awhile in Little Yoshiwara, a sim that tries to take you back to the Edo Period of Japan, into the world of geisha and samurai between the years 1603 – 1867. I always loved the formal manner, the delicate movements, and the feeling of calm in the place.
When I went to the Feroch Winter Fashion Weekend this past weekend, one of the things I just had to pick up was this lovely kimono by tomoto called the Kimono Fuwari. It comes in red (which I am wearing) and lime green, as well as being offered in a men’s version. It’s not something I could really wear for Edo Period, but for the present? You bet! I had some fun with a bit of makeup I found at Feroch, too: Sun Silver Mesh & Makeup by SlackGirl. The set comes with this wonderful mesh “sun” to place where it encircles your face, and ten different eye shadows. In this photo, I am wearing Sun 02, a gorgeous blue color.
I didn’t want to take photos in a sim of Japan, just because. Instead, I found a quirky sim with all different sorts of cosplay themes called Story of Infinite. Perfect!
